DIY Beer Coasters

"Water on wood, no good", my Mom used to say. I can almost hear it now when I don't have a coaster handy.
The worst part is, I've said it to MY kids!!!

To prevent these words from being uttered, here are some great DIY coaster ideas for your bar or coffee table.

Vinyl Records

Picture
GusWatab has the right idea with these coasters cut from the center of vinyl records. There are so many great album colors and designs to consider! He doesn't mention it, but I would think a piece of clear adhesive cut to size would help protect them.

p.s. If you ask what a vinyl record is, I'm gonna slap you!

Scrabble Tiles

Next up are scrabble tiles that are arranged to form our favorite words. All you need are some tiles, super glue, cork board, and clear sealant to finish it off.

Check out this nice guide from Belle of the Boulevard with instructions on how to make them.

Resin Bottlecaps

Here's a neat idea that you may not have seen before.  Jesse Gaffney over at Theatre Projects tells us which molds to buy and how to turn all of those bottle caps you saved into these durable resin coasters!
