- Two 3/4" x 36" pieces of poplar square stock (retails for ~$2.50 at local hardware stores)
- One 3/8" x 36" poplar dowel (retails for ~$1.00 at local hardware stores)
- A drill and bits
- Some sort of clamping device
- A saw
- A hammer
- Some finishing nails
- Diagonal cutters or something similar
- A small punch
- A means of measuring
